Serpentine Chair

“The Chair is calling the Serpentine Chair. It’s a rocking chair made using the slotting and folding technique, designed for relaxation and suitable for various area.”

  • First of all, I think it would be too straightforward to call it a snake chair, just to highlight the shape of the chair.
  • “Serpentine” means “snack shape” or “winding.” It can be used to describe certain zigzag or sinuous shapes, or features associated with snakes. In architecture and design, it is often used to describe smooth, curved lines or forms. My chair has a very strong curve and looks like a snake with its head held high. Second, the serpentine paper I use to hold the cardboard is cut to follow the pattern on the snake’s skin.

The serpentine chair is made of cardboard. It is a sturdy rocking chair that allows gentle forward and backward movement to provide a better comfort experience for the user.

Ergonomics: Using the LC4 chaise lounge chair as a reference, the more body-hugging curves allow for more comfort.
Structure: The slotting method is used to connect each part to make the whole chair stronger.
