THE SEA HORN installation

The Sea Horn installation incorporates the elements found naturally in a space into an art installation about sound using high tide and low tide underground water and wind.

Long cylindrical tubes are arranged vertically in a curving row. Each of these tubes is open at the top and bottom, sinks deep enough into the dock to reach water below the dock.

SOUND

The taller pipes have longer air column and it will play at a low pitch.
The shorter pipes shortens the length of the air column resulting in the pitch getting higher.

The sound pitch depends on the length of the vibrating body.
The different length of the pipes changes the length of the vibrating air column inside the pipes and hence changes its pitch.
